League of Women Voters hosts first-ever Meet & Greet with local elected officials
The League of Women Voters of Appleton-Fox Cities is hosting its very first Meet & Greet with Local Elected Officials to connect officials with their constituents in a casual, conversational setting.
Coffee and donuts will be the fare at the Meet & Greet on Saturday, Sept. 12, from
10 a.m. to noon at the Appleton Public Library, in the Mary Beth Nienhaus Community Rooms.
Local mayors and city council members, county executives and board supervisors, and town and village chairs and supervisors from the Fox Cities area have been invited to engage in informal conversation with constituents and their colleagues from other governing bodies over coffee and pastries. This is not a campaign event, as no officials are seeking re-election.
Invited elected officials represent these entities: Cities of Appleton and Kaukauna; Towns of Buchanan and Grand Chute; and Villages of Combined Locks, Greenville, Harrison, Kimberly, and Little Chute, and Calumet and Outagamie Counties.
The Meet & Greet is open to League members and the general public, and there is no fee to attend. Following the introduction of the governmental officials by League President Jan Quinlan, participants will be free to mingle and converse.
Quinlan says the new event is a great way for all sides to get acquainted through open dialogue and is also a fresh way to kick off the League's lineup of monthly programs and events.
